Social media is highly addictive to use, it has the same effects on the brain as cocaine. This can lead to excessive use of social media sites. This addiction can be related to negative effects such as the fear of missing out. I wanted to help the younger generation acknowledge they may have a problem, then understand take control of their digital diet.
The outcome for this project was The Rascals, four characters based on the negative emotions felt when addicted to social media. This project targets the audience through social media, using short, animated videos spread on multiple online platforms to introduce each Rascal. This would allow the audience to relate to the characters and realise their addiction. By using videos and online promotion, the audience would be lead to Rascals website where they would find resources and fun tips to help manage their addiction.
